This happened to me , I had been raped and struggling with severe depression. There was nothing but judgement . People especially parents already struggle from feelings of shame that they suffer from depression. Then we have the Alberta courts that shame a parent to not being good enough and soak them financially .
So the family is ripped apart which in turn breaks the child's spirit. The child then ages out of the system often with out any therapy or life skills. No community or family it's no wonder that these ones would feel homeless .

So imagine already feeling hopeless and some young know it all caseworker comes and steals-their children away instead of exercising support and compassion.
