Oklahoma Open-original birth certificates for all adopted adults
Open Records for Oklahoma's Adult Adoptees! Mary Fallin was on the Channel 9 news program at 6:30 a.m. this morning. Whether or not you like her, she looked exhausted with the horrible snafu they've got on the budget. I got to thinking about our open records legislation, so I went on their website to see what I could determine about our prospects.
This is what I learned. Kevin Calvey is now the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. He's worse than Anthony Sykes who chairs the Senate Judiciary committee and wouldn't hear our bill at all. Both Calvey and Sykes are term-limited in 2018. That means they will serve in the spring of 2018, but then they will be gone once they have the election later that year. So, in 2019, there will be other people in those two positions. Thank goodness. It's about time!
Will keep you updated as things move along--even if it does seem like it's at a snail's pace.
