Arizona grandmother has tried for months to intervene and seek custody of 2 grandchildren that have been in state custody for several months. Two motions denied. A month ago, a beautiful baby girl was born, grandma was present, and remained at the hospital by her daughter's and granddaughter's side. On Monday morning, grandmother went to petition the courts for emergency guardianship of her newborn granddaughter. The judge refused to hear it that day and set a hearing for today, 7/21/16. Babies Mother signed a guardianship statement the very next day when she was released from the hospital(notarized). The baby remained at the hospital, as they refused to discharge her with family. While Mother and Grandmother were out taking care of paperwork, CPS went to the hospital a took the baby. At the 1st hearing, after CPS took the newborn, the judge seemed pleased that Grandmother was there, willing and able to step up to care for her grandchildren. However, grandmother was not permitted to talk AT ALL! The judge rubber-stamped the dependency. Grandmother has not seen her newborn grandchild in 4 weeks. Judge ordered CPS to complete a home study on Grandmother, and she has heard nothing from anyone regarding such. Today, 7/21/16, the judge who heard the guardianship refused to grant it due to CPS' involvement. If we continue to sit idly by as fellow American's and permit this #RICO to continue, we are leaving no good legacy for OUR children, for THEIR future!
