Photo - I met Kristy in Tulsa for a protest. She is the mother of 3 children. One thing I noticed in the times we have met is that Kristy carries a photo of her youngest son with her everywhere she goes. When we traveled to Wichita, Kansas for protest...her #TAKEN son, Dakota, rode along on the dash of the truck. His photo attached to her awareness folder. The convolution of emotion that comes along with the loss of a living child is something that Kristy battles every day. Depression, PTSD, fear, and worry are front and center in the lives of families of #TAKEN children. Because there is no closure...the unknown factors are never resolved. In spite of that Kristy has worked hard to overcome her fear's by protesting the very courthouse where Dakota was #TAKEN. While her advocacy can never replace Dakota's place in her life....she, like myself, has learned how to use her pain to assist other struggling families and our cause. The vital ingredient of undying love for our #TAKEN children is the common factor that will hold us in good stead as we fight this war. I am proud to have Kristy by my side as we protest, raise awareness, and fight for all families of #TAKEN children. #AmericasTakenChildren #Dakota #NeverStopLooking: I met Kristy in Tulsa for a protest.
