Photo - Advocacy can be a difficult business. There is a lot of heartbreak involved in documenting the pain and suffering of families of #TAKEN children. A pain I know only too well, as I struggled to cope with the loss of our Jake to forced adoption. From my earliest days as an advocate I had a burning desire to help families reunite. I believe the biological bond trumps incentivized adoption. This is proven by the fact that an adopted child searches for his biological family the second he is able to, even if he does not remember them. Sometimes these reunions are difficult for all involved. I do not think a child can be ripped from his family of origin without a profound effect on the lives of all involved. My reunion with my long lost friend, Mark Mumma, helped bring my dream to reality when he created AmericasTakenChildren.com for me. Today that dream became a reality when an adopted child, #TAKEN after 1997, completed the first search profile made by a #TAKEN child. Our database threw a match. Just like Mark Mumma, resident genius, said it would. I am very grateful to be able to share this news with all the wonderful people who have stood with me, supported our work, and had faith in our efforts. I especially want to express my gratitude to Mark, Jenn, and Kristy for their endless hard work. I would like to encourage parents of #TAKEN children to make the search profiles necessary for a reunion with their #TAKEN children. At this time I have not established contact with the parent. This speaks to the need to keep your information current on the website. I trust and believe that this #TAKEN child is the first of many. #NeverStopLooking #JakeDenzilCumpian: <a href="http://bit.ly/2elRUAk src="http://bit.ly/2ffZycW can be a difficult business.
